This report presents an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Hbaline Solid
Waste Treatment Facility (Sorting Plant) with the objectives to ensure environmental
protection and management and assist in the design, construction and operation of the
proposed facility,The scope of work implemented in the preparation of the EIA report included a description
of the proposed mechanical sorting plan, description of the facilities already designed as
well as the facilities planned in the context of the proposed plan, definition of the existing
legal and administrative framework, description of the environment surrounding the project
site, identification of potential environmental impacts, analysis of alternatives and
corresponding environmental management plans (mitigation, monitoring, and institutional
strengthening).
